Happy Birthday Poe!

Edgar Allan Poe would be 202 this month. In honor of his birthday, Mental Floss posted the Humpty Dumpty story in the style of Poe.

Once upon a wall of stone
Sat Humpty Dumpy all alone
Shrouded in a web of gloom
His fate as near as tomorrow’s tomb

Celebrating Valentine's Day early with Puppy Love!

We're hosting a contest that will allow you to learn a little bit about your teacher. Come by the library and play our "Puppy Love" contest. All you have to do is match the picture of the pet with the picture of the teacher. We've posted hints by teacher doors and will run these hints on the big screen in the lunch room. Good Luck!

Here are the first hints -- your librarians and their dogs.
(Mr. Kutch teaches history. He's not a librarian.)

Should Huck Finn be changed?

A new version of Mark Twain's classic Adventures of Huckleberry Finn has been published by NewSouth Books. It eliminates the 219 times the n-word is used and replaces it with the word "slave." The book's planned release is in February. So what do you think? Are you offended by the use of the changed word? Are you offended by the changing of a classic? You can tell us here or you can go to the New York Times - they have a place for students to share their opinion on this.
